Thursday Thirteen, Take 2

THURSDAY THIRTEEN: THE "AUTO" EDITION

1. My current dream car is a 2006 Chrysler 300, black with darkly tinted windows. As my friend said today, they look like Bentley's. (BAC's for sure!)

2. In the past 10 years, I have owned 7 cars.

3. In the past 10 years, I have been in 7 wrecks--not all of which I was driving. I'm really not that bad of a driver if people would just stay the hell out of my way.

4. When I was 15, I used to take my mom's keys and sneak out with the spare car after she went to work on 3rd shift.

5. (Yes, I got caught.)

6. In '02, I won a used car in a newspaper contest. Tonight I bought shocks for it, but it desperately needs help.

7. I wrecked #6 just six weeks after I won it. An old man pulled out in front of me on a major road and braked to let someone else out in front of him as I was wolfing down a burrito. I still recall how the contents of the tortilla flew everywhere.

8. The first car I ever wanted to give two lungs and a kidney for was a 1995 (teal) Mustang convertible with white top. Mustangs still turn my head from time to time, but I think they are overrated gas burners.

9. I learned to drive on a John Deere tractor, first taking the wheel when I was 5. I remember giving it too much gas and my dad almost falling off the fender.

10. The first time I drove a stick shift was also on the farm. I accidentally ran over one of my kittens with dad's truck--still traumatizes me to think about that night!
