Help!

Moving can be so exhausting, especially when a potential divorce is at stake. Since we've decided to do a 30-day trial separation, I'm in limbo, so to speak. I've not taken any large items, such as furniture. Part of me is still here; part of me is living with my father who, luckily, has no other women living with him to cause me anguish this time. I've adjusted quite well, though there's still many things I find myself coming back home for on a daily basis--mail, a shower, my son, etc.

But the big issue of this week is school. I finally ordered my textbooks online over the weekend even though classes start this week. I am a sucker for bargains, so I always risk not getting the book in time by hooking up with super-cheap texts on half.com. Luckily, I only have to go over to campus one day a week; two classes are online, one is an "arranged" independent study (meaning I meet with the professor occasionally to check my progress), and my Criminal Justice course meets on Thursday.

So here's where the title of this post comes in. I have scheduled a meeting with my Gender Studies prof to discuss my final project that will complete coursework for that particular degree. We are meeting Thursday prior to my CJ class. Unfortunately, I have not decided on a particular topic for research. Due to the many constraints lately, I've not exactly been focused on choosing what I want to spend an entire semester researching.

What would be a really interesting topic in the field of Gender Studies? I am open for ANY suggestions, as I want this to be something unique and fascinating.

Gimme Your Input!!!

thanks for stopping by :).
hmm..gender studies. how about something along the lines of the beauty myth and how an idealized idea of beauty affects womens' interactions with men. i don't know. just an idea..?

I've tossed that one around and still may consider it. We've had a lot of readings on that topic in previous GS classes. A popular issue in today's society, especially...

Thanks for the idea!

LMAO on that one...but you may just be on to something.

Transvestitism, maybe? I think that definitely qualifies as a "gender" issue!

I wish I could help you out with a topic - unfortunately, I'm drawing a blank. I hope you continue to adjust to your move and begin to make progress on the tough decisions ahead.
